I don't think Pope John Paul II ever attempted snowboarding (though I wouldn't be surprised) but he loved skiing. A group of JP Catholic students and faculty ventured to Wolf Creek Resort near Durango Colorado to enjoy the pristine beauty of the Rocky Mountains while hurling themselves down hill at rediculous speeds! Praise God, all returned unharmed:)

Father Joe's Thanksgiving 5k

This past Thursday, a fleet and fearless quintet of JP Catholic representatives participated in the annual Father Joe Thanksgiving 5k to benefit the St. Vicent DePaul Villages. Matthew Salisbury, Steve Marshall, Chris Lane, Martin Harold, and Bobby Graves gave up the chance to sleep in to raise money for the San Diego area needy. They raised $140 from entry fees which were covered by sponsors.
And of course the sponsors deserve a very special thank you. This year's entry fees were covered by La Provence Bakery, Jenny Wakelin, Jackie Wakelin, and Mr. and Mrs. John Wakelin of West Virginia. Thank you sponsors!!!!
Hopefully next year we can turn out an even bigger gang of runners for Father Joe!
